Call for Abstracts

IDA is accepting presentations for the Technical Sessions of the 2018 International Water Reuse and Recycling Conference, June 24-27 in Valencia, Spain.

We are seeking Extended Abstracts for original work on a wide variety of topics related to Water Reuse and Recycling. Abstracts and all required information along with any documents must be completed online at the IDA Website and Presenter Center submission site.

Abstract submissions will be evaluated and accepted on the bases of technical merit and assigned to a related session. All abstracts and presentations will be reviewed for originality, importance of findings, and relevance to the theme of the Water Reuse Conference, “Making Every Drop Count”.

All submissions will be peer reviewed by members of the Conference Committee.
Abstracts submitted by email will NOT be read or considered for inclusion in the program. You must be logged into the IDA Website to access the submission site to submit. Access will be available March 1.

Those accepted for presentation at the Water Reuse Conference will be expected to sign a participation agreement of requirements. Presenting participants are required to pay the registration fee.

English is the official language of the Conference.

Submissions must be mostly new material, not previously presented or published.

Information collected from those accepted into the program will be used for marketing and promotional purposes such as online announcements, and print material.


Technical Program Sessions will address topics submitted under the following Categories:

  • Cutting-edge technologies
  • Direct and indirect potable reuse
  • Non-potable and agricultural re-use
  • Water quality monitoring and control
  • Advanced technologies for joint desalination and water reuse
  • Industrial water reuse and recycling
  • Best practices in reuse
  • Health concerns in water reuse

Author Submission and Participation Requirements

Abstract for consideration – by March 25
Participation Agreement – on notification of acceptance
Paid Registration made – by April 1
Photo, Bio and Brief Introduction entered Profile the IDA Database – by May 15
Extended Abstract – Final April 15
PowerPoint Presentation Draft – April 15
PowerPoint Presentation Final – May 15

Author Requirements for presenting in the Technical Sessions

3-4 page Extended Abstract using the provided template
30 minute presentation allotment – 20 minute max for PPT presentation | 10 minute max for presenter changeover, and Q&A. (times will be moderated and adhered to)
