ENOWA and Nanostone Water Join Forces to Advance Ceramic Ultrafiltration Technology at the SIWW 2024

On June 19th 2024, during the Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) 2024, ENOWA and Nanostone Water, Inc. officially forged a partnership to advance water treatment technologies. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed signifies a mutual commitment to transform brine mining in the NEOM region of northwest Saudi Arabia by implementing Ceramic Ultrafiltration (CUF) technology.

This strategic collaboration aims to pilot CUF membranes for the recovery of valuable minerals and metals from desalination and cooling tower blowdown brine. The initiative seeks to address environmental challenges associated with brine disposal while potentially generating a sustainable revenue stream from resources that were previously wasted.

The signing at SIWW 2024 marks a significant milestone in both organizations’ efforts to promote sustainable water management solutions globally. By leveraging Nanostone’s advanced CUF technology, ENOWA intends to enhance resource recovery and reduce environmental impact, particularly in arid regions like NEOM.

Initially, ENOWA and Nanostone Water, Inc. will undertake comprehensive pilot tests to assess the efficiency, scalability, and economic viability of CUF membranes in brine mining applications. These pilot tests are crucial for determining the feasibility of commercializing the technology, which could transform water treatment practices worldwide.
