IDRA-YLP Mentorship Program

Our mission is to create meaningful connections between young professionals and industry leaders, fostering a dynamic mentoring relationship that facilitates knowledge transfer and expands networks.

The IDRA-YLP Mentorship Program is designed for young professionals in the desalination and water treatment industry who are eager to expand their network and learn from experienced industry mentors. The Mentors offer valuable insights into the desalination industry and provide support and guidance in advancing the mentee’s career. Additionally, the program offers opportunities to participate in virtual meetings and workshops, fostering connections with other mentees and professionals.

You must be an IDRA/IDRA YLP member to participate in this program. If you wish to join the IDRA-YLP Mentorship Program, complete the Sign-up Form before the deadline on February 1st, 2024. After reviewing your application, a suitable mentor will be assigned to you.

Once you are assigned to a mentor, IDRA facilitates the introduction, allowing you to engage in one-on-one discussions and address your questions. Both you and your mentor will privately arrange these sessions to accommodate both schedules. The program typically runs for approximately 12 months. IDRA also hosts various global events where you can have the chance to meet your mentor in person.

Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to embark on a transformative journey with a mentor who can guide you toward personal and professional growth. Join the IDRA-YLP Mentorship Program today and be part of shaping a brighter future for the industry!

Do you have any question?

Qualifying mentees will be matched one-on-one with qualifying mentors, with no more than two mentees assigned to each mentor.

Mentors will reach out to introduce themselves to mentees, and, from that point, lead interactions to identify and pursue topics of mutual interest.

You must be an IDA/IDA YLP member to participate in this program. Prospective mentees may apply by completing the IDA Mentor Program Questionnaire.

Prospective mentors may apply by completing the IDA Mentor Program Questionnaire. Over time, IDA is planning to create a mentor network that covers all parts of the globe with the capability to converse in many languages.

Mentees and mentors are asked to commit to participate in the program through November 10, 2021.  IDA will hold two events during this timeframe allowing for mentorship meetings to be conducted, they are:

  • The IDA Biennial Water Reuse and Recycling Conference in Rome October 9-11, 2021
  • IDA World Congress October 9-13, 2022

The time-commitment will largely depend on the level of common interests within each group. Our estimate is 1 to 3 hours per month.
