GS Inima Brasil, a world leader in the Concessions, Industrial and Services segments signed, last Monday 13th. together with the governor of Espírito Santo, Renato Casagrande, the contract to start the construction, operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant and reuse water supply in the municipality of Vitória. The ceremony took place during the ES Day panel, which is part of the international edition of the Brazilian Regional Markets (BRM) event, promoted by Apex and EQI Investimento and taking place in New York, USA. The agreement signed between the State Government, through Companhia Espírito-santense de Saneamento (Cesan), and GS Inima Brasil, has an estimated investment of R$ 240 million, the equivalent of 43,2 million of euros. The project includes the construction of a Reuse Water Production Station (EPAR in the Portuguese acronym) with the capacity to transform 300 l/s of wastewater into reuse water for industrial purposes. The treated effluent will be pumped from Camburi, in Vitória, to the Industrial Pole in the municipality of Serra. The contract will last 30 years.
The entry of GS Inima Brasil in Vitória/ES, through its business unit Águas de Reúso de Vitória, will benefit residents of neighborhoods in the north of the capital Vitória, as well as six neighborhoods in Serra: Hélio Ferraz, Manoel Plaza, Rosário de Fátima, Eurico Salles, Carapina I and Bairro de Fátima, providing a long-term commitment to sustainable management and the preservation of water, the environment and benefits for the population.
In addition to meeting industrial demands, the reuse water treatment plant will bring a range of environmental and social benefits to Espírito Santo.
