• When fully operational Hassyan will be one of the largest power plants in the world, with a production capacity of 9,000MW. The power plant is based on the shores of the Arabian Gulf and is owned by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).

The UAE has a fast-growing economy and population which require new power and water projects such as the Hassyan Power Plant and desalination facility in Dubai. Hassyan is a gas-fuelled power plant which integrates a power island and a desalination island.

Future Pipe Industries had a significant impact on the overall development of the project. We supplied 27Km of Fiberstrong® Glass Reinforced Polyester pipe for Sea Water Intake application with 1,685 Double Bell Coupler joints. Innovation played a key role in this project, as an industry first, we manufactured DN 4000 18-meter length pipe, a 50% increase on the standard 12 meters. This reduced the number of joints required providing savings in installation time. This was especially important given that this project is offshore and underwater.
