IDRA New Dates for 2021 Water Reuse and Recycling Conference: October 11th – 13th, 2021

February 22, 2021, Boston, MA – The International Desalination and Reuse Association (IDRA), a global non-profit organization focused on advanced water treatment solutions and non-conventional water resource solutions to offset growing water scarcity, announces new dates for the Biennial Water Reuse and Recycling Conference to be October 11-13, 2021, held in Rome, Italy.  The conference represents a global collaborative effort to implement best practices surrounding water reuse and recycling, taking into account regulations, financial challenges, innovative technologies, success stories, and cutting-edge research. The program combines keynote presentations, dynamic panel discussions and a robust technical exchange of peer reviewed papers.

The exchange will begin on Monday, October 11th with two (2) half-day invite only workshops. The conference is officially opened that evening with a welcome reception.

Monday, October 11th  
9:00—12:30: Industrial Water Reuse Workshop to Address Water Needs in Oil & Gas, Mining, F&B, and other industrial sectors

14:00—17:30: Utility Leaders Summit Covering Project Success Case Studies, Public Utility Challenges and Solutions Related to Reuse Projects

On Tuesday, October 12th and Wednesday, October 13th, in addition to the peer reviewed technical program, special panel sessions will be conducted. As well, a very special “Evening in Rome” networking event is planned for Tuesday, October 12th.

Awards:
The IDRA 2021 Water Reuse and Recycling Conference will be presenting three awards for recognition in the area of Water Reuse and Conservation.  Nominations should be submitted to awards@idadesal.org on or before the deadline 15 June 2021.  Winners will be chosen by members of the IDRA Water Reuse and Conservation Award Committee and announced on October 12, 2021 during the “Evening in Rome” networking event.

PRE-CONFERENCE IDRA ACADEMY MASTER CLASS ON WATER SUPPLY RESILIENCE PLANNING AND DESALINATION AND WATER REUSE PLANNING

Sunday, October 10th  

Morning Session
Water Supply Resilience Planning, instructed by Dr. Gisela Kaiser, Director Sustainable Water Management, Water Globe Consultants LLC. This segment of the course provides an overview in how coastal cities can potentially plan for increased resilience against shocks and stresses such as drought and climate change, built on the case study of the Cape Town drought. It provides a broad framework of demand and supply and the building blocks for development of a strategy to securing a resilient water future.

Afternoon Session
Desalination and Water Reuse Planning, instructed by Mr. Nikolay Voutchkov, President, Water Globe Consultants LLC. This segment of the course provides an overview of the use of membrane desalination and water reuse as sources of alternative water supply in a diversified portfolio for resilient water supply.  The course provides fundamentals of reverse osmosis technology and current trends in desalination and water reuse.
