IDRA Presents the Industrial Water Webinar Series, an IDRA Academy Program

September 23, 2020, Boston, MA – The IDRA Industrial Water Advisory Committee in partnership with the IDRA Young Leaders has curated for the IDRA Academy a series of six (6) webinars focused on addressing the diverse issues facing industrial water users.

This IDRA Academy webcast series is free to IDRA members and open to all stakeholders for a nominal registration fee. The industrial sector is a large user of water and with this comes a great responsibility of managing the risk associated with this important resource, be it in terms water availability, discharge, storage or recycle.

“IDRA is proud to present this dynamic online exchange featuring participation from some of the leading industrial water experts from the oil & gas, chemicals, mining, textiles, food & beverage, and semi-conductor industries” said Shannon McCarthy, IDRA Secretary General.

Devesh Sharma, IDRA’s First Vice President and Chair of the Industrial Advisory Committee added “We are very excited about this webinar series which will address a variety of issues such as technology and new business models evolving in the industry . We will hear from leading technology experts as well end-users about their experiences in desalination and water reuse. We want the IDRA to cultivate thought leadership around the issues of industrial water risk management and hope these webinars will offer the springboard to achieve that goal.”

All webinars will take place at 10:00 EST USA

The first webinar in this series, “Success Stories of Industries Turning Wastewater into Value” will address the costs associated with the management and treatment of wastewater. Wastewater management has a strategic impact on the operations and budget of many industrial facilities, and can be viewed as either ‘grudge a spend’ or a profit-driving / cost-saving opportunity across a facility’s P&L. Cost savings, operational resilience, flexibility, and sustainability are all areas where wastewater management improvements can be realized. Due to the situational variances that exist across facilities throughout the world (quality, quantity, energy, budgets, compliance limitations, etc.), every wastewater reuse project retains its own individual, unique challenges. Selecting the proper technology suite and designing the correct treatment scheme is a craft that requires quality data, knowledge and experience. This webinar will showcase advice from leading engineering professionals about data and experience in implementing reuse projects across a range of different industries and scenarios to better understand how to unlock the intrinsic value of wastewater.
