Boston, Massachusetts – United States, October 20, 2022 – At the 2022 IDRA World Congress Gala Dinner, the International Desalination and Reuse Association (IDRA) recognized the achievements of corporations and institutions from across the globe with the IDRA Industry & Sustainability Awards presentation along with the Presidential and Lifetime Achievement Awards.

Winners of the Industry & Sustainability Awards were chosen by an independent committee, which included Professor DucLong Nghiem, Centre for Technology in Water & Wastewater, Sydney University of Technology, Australia, Dr. Michael R. Markus, Orange County Water District, United States, Dr. Jantje Johnson, Orangeboat, LLC, United States, Dr. Gonzalo Delacamara, Centr for Wter & Climate Adaptation, IE University, Spain, and Mr. Randy Truby, Consultant, United States.

Recipients of these awards were honored for their innovative efforts for implementation of sustainable practices.

Presidential Awards

Also at the Gala Dinner, IDRA President Carlos Cosin, conferred two Presidential awards and one Award of Distinction.  The Presidential Awards went to H.E. Eng. Khalid Al Qureshi, CEO, SWPC, for his visionary role and leadership of the Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC), and Mr. Eduardo Orteu Berrocal for his support in the new initiatives to expand IDRA activities, including the publication of the first special edition of the Red Book. Additionally, an Award of Distinction was presented to Dr. Mike Dixon, CEO, Synauta, for his outstanding dedication as the IDRA Congress Technical Program Co-Chairman.

  

Lifetime Achievement Awards

Lastly, in recognition of their years of outstanding achievements, contributions and dedication to the Desalination and Water Reuse Industry, IDRA honored two individuals for this prestigious award.  Mr. Fouad Makhzoumi and Dr. Emilio Gabbrielli.
