- Built in Huelva, the ROWSIP® pilot plant arrived in Ensenada, Mexico, around mid-2023.
- ROWSIP® is an innovative pretreatment for seawater desalination plants with open intake.
In its R&D&i projects, GS Inima looks for the best conditions to obtain results that can be extrapolated to large projects. And the location of the pilings is a key factor. Therefore, the ROWSIP® pilot plant has been operating for 6 months at the Ensenada Desalination Plant, in Baja California, Mexico, operated and maintained by GS Inima. There, the conditions are met for the conclusions of the pilot to be scalable.
The Rowsip® pilot plant, Reverse Osmosis with Simple Intake and Pretreatment, It was built and assembled in two 40 foot containers, at the Seta PHT facilities. Later, in the El Quiñón WWTP, in Seseña, completed the hydraulic tests, and in Mexico, to where it is transported by sea, commissioning and the initiation of the trials that continue today, uninterruptedly for 24 hours/day and 7 days/week.
“While big ideas are the ones that change and improve the world, they would remain in the realm of philosophical idealism if they did not demonstrate their applicability in transforming reality. In GS InimaIn addition to promoting the generation of innovative ideas, we provide the necessary resources to materialize them. The ROWSIP project pilot plant is an example of many others, of our vision and firm commitment to innovation.” Antonio Ordóñez, R&D&I Director, GS Inima.
