New Executive Management and Board Appointments at Osmoflo

Osmoflo’s shareholder, Hitachi Zosen Corporation of Japan (HITZ), and the Board of Osmoflo are pleased to announce the appointment of Carmine Ciccocioppo, as the new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Osmoflo, effective from Friday 1st April 2022.

At the same time, HITZ and the Osmoflo Board would like to acknowledge and thank the outgoing CEO and MD, Takayuki Inoue, for his invaluable leadership over the last 3 years. During that period Mr Inoue has guided Osmoflo through the challenging period of the COVID-19 global pandemic and has also been instrumental in growing and strengthening the organisation to the point where it now enjoys the highest value forward order book, approaching AUD140m, since it was founded more than 3 decades ago. Mr Inoue will assume the role of Chairman, taking over from outgoing Chairman, Mr Takashi Ibe.

Mr Inoue commented that “I would firstly like to thank our shareholder, HITZ, for the opportunity to serve as the new Chairman of Osmoflo and I would also like to acknowledge the contribution of our outgoing Chairman, Mr Ibe, who has provided his valued guidance and experience in that role since 2018. I am very pleased to be able to continue to work with Mr Ibe on the Osmoflo Board on which he will continue to serve as a Director. I transition from the CEO to the Chairman role confident that Osmoflo has continued to improve and strengthen over that lest several years, and is now well poised to grow and diversify even further under Carmine’s trusted leadership – I wish him all the very best in his new role of CEO, and look forward to continuing to work closely with him as the new Chair.”

Mr Ciccocioppo joined Osmoflo in 2010 and since that time has filled a range of Senior Executive roles, most recently as Chief Operating Officer since March 2019. Prior to joining Osmoflo, he held various senior management positions in Abigroup, United Utilities Australia and Sinclair Knight Merz, and has also previously served as a Director of the Australian Water Association between 2003 and 2011.

Mr Ciccocioppo stated that: “It is an absolute privilege to be given the opportunity to lead an organisation with the pedigree and proud history of Osmoflo. Thanks to the focus and committed leadership over the last 3 years of our outgoing CEO, Inoue san, the business is now perfectly positioned for growth and diversification. I am very much looking forward to the prospect of leveraging and building on the company’s many strengths – its strong process capability including its patented Osmoflo Brine Squeezer technology, its innovative culture, its extensive experience in operations and maintenance including its 24/7 remote monitoring platform, and most importantly its exceptional and committed workforce spread across three continents.”

He went on to say: “It is such an exciting time be involved in the global water sector right now- never before has the industry faced such a fundamental challenge as climate change, whether that manifests itself as existential threats to local or regional water security, or the need to reduce energy consumption and carbon footprint for water treatment and distribution infrastructure, or whether it is water provision to support new sources of global energy such as green hydrogen –  Osmoflo, with the strong support of its parent company HITZ, is extremely well placed to respond, and to provide the innovative, customised, sustainable water solutions that our clients will require in future to address those challenges.”
