Elected Director
John H. Lienhard has been a professor at MIT for 35 years. His desalination research has included membrane distillation, reverse and forward osmosis, humidification-dehumidification, nanofiltration, electrodialysis, solvent extraction, brine management, low-carbon system, scaling/fouling, and thermodynamic efficiency. Lienhard is author of > 300 peer-reviewed publications. He holds > 40 US patents and pending applications.
His research collaborations have reached Chile, China, India, Israel, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, and United Arab Emirates. Lienhard is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the American Society of Thermal and Fluid Engineers. He is a licensed Professional Engineer, and the author of several textbooks.
