Dr. Roberto Borsani received his Electronic Engineering Diploma in 1970. He then did Chemical Engineering Degree, which he complted in 1970, and a Doctorate in Chemical Engineering which he finished in 1976.
From 1978 he was employed in the Italimpianti chemical division. Between 1978 and 1981, Dr. Borsani worked on the several projects in the process and design of chemical plants including sea water desalination plants. In 1982, Dr. Borsain worked as the Process Assistant at the startup of Rabigh sea water desalination plant in Saudi Arabia. Between 1983 and 1985 he worked as a Project Engineer for the Sitra Bahrain MSF desalination project (contract value $170M). From 1986 to 1994, Dr. Borsani worked as a Technical Manager of the Desalination Division in Italimipianti. During his period two projects were completed: 1) a 3 MSF Desalination plant in Abu Dhabi (UAE) (contract value: 190 M$) and 2) a 3 RO Desalination plant in Abu Dhabi (UAE) (contract value: 14 M$).
Mr. Borsani also served on the IDA Board of Directors 1999/2001 – Elected Director and 2002/2003 – Elected Director and Committee Chairperson.
