Mr. Jungbin Kim

PhD Student, Korea University

Jungbin Kim is a Ph.D. candidate (Advisor: Professor Seungkwan Hong) in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at Korea University. He is currently involved in the “Korean Optimized Reverse osmosis membrane-based desalination integrated with Advanced Energy saving” (KORAE) research group, and his research focuses on the development of the energy-efficient reverse process. From the project, he has published 5 journal articles relevant to seawater desalination and submitted 2 to the top SCI(E) Journals in the field of chemical engineering. Upon the experiences of journal publications, he is currently preparing for book publications about reverse osmosis technology and seawater desalination. Also, he holds 7 domestic patents in the Republic of Korea and 2 international patents in the United States and European Union regarding desalination technologies. In addition, he owns 6 software copyrights of the programs for membrane processes. He has been recognized as a distinctive researcher in the water sector and was awarded the first prizes in 2019 World Drought Challenge and the 4th International Conference on Desalination using Membrane Technology.
