Saudi Water Partnership Company is happy to share an update on the highly anticipated Jeddah 2 ISTP project.
Jeddah Airport 2 Independent Sewage Treatment Plant (ISTP) is designed with a capacity of 300,000 m3/day, has reached advanced stages of Testing and Commissioning.
The plant relies on advanced technologies for water treatment which are being applied for the first time in the Kingdom. Products obtained from the Treatment Plant, such as treated water (which can be used for irrigation purposes) and stable sludge suitable for multiple uses (with a drying rate of more than 90)%, solving various environmental problems such as odor emission and reducing electrical energy consumption. The plant also aligns with our commitment to the Saudi Green Initiative, by unifying ecological protection, energy transition and sustainability programs with the aims of reducing emissions.
One of the major benefits of this project is it’s contribution to the local content by injection more than SAR 340 M in the local economy. This impact is reflected via the participation of local companies including EPC contractors, vendors, suppliers and service providers. This contribution will be through out the life span of the project from the construction phase up to the operation and maintenance activities. In addition, the project will create new job opportunities for the local residents which will contributes to youth employment and knowledge transfer.
