Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) is pleased to announce the start of the request for proposals (RFP) phase as an important step for Ras Al-Khair (RAK) privatization, where a number of (7) strategic qualified companies and consortiums have been invited to submit their bids to participate in the plant, The winner Bidder will own (60%) of RAK project company and take over the management, operation and maintenance.
The project is the first SWCC production bundles to be privatized that overseen by the Supervisory Committee for Privatization in the Environment, Water and Agriculture sector, with participation of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, the National Center for Privatization and the Saudi Water Partnerships Company.
SWCC had announced the qualified companies and consortiums, as follows:
- JERA Co., Inc. (JERA)
- International Company for Power and Water Projects (ACWA Power)
- Engie S.A. (Engie)
- Marubeni Corporation (Marubeni)
- China Power International Holding Limited (CPIHL) / Ajlan & Bros Energy Company (Ajlan)
- NTPC Limited (NTPC)
- China Huadian Hong Kong Co. (CHDHK) / Beijing Enterprises Water Group (BEWG) consortium (BEWG)
SWCC work for preparing launch the remaining production bundles, which includes Yanbu and Shuaiba plants, in addition to under construction plants.
