Once a year, the Toray Group companies in the Americas hold the Toray Americas Group’s Safety Summit, in which the leaders in charge of safety activities on site at each company participate to further improve their activities. Toray Advanced Composites USA Inc. (TACUS) played host to the summit this year, which was held on November 1 and 2 in San Jose, California, and was attended by about 30 people representing 12 companies.
In addition to reports on the safety activities at each company, the summit also featured group work where the participants discussed the essential and root causes of past accidents at Toray Group and the introduction of common information technology (IT) systems to be used for safety activities.
Each session saw the participants actively raising questions and making proposals, and the summit turned out to be a good opportunity to improve future safety activities at the Group companies in the Americas in the future not only by reviewing activities of their own company but also receiving stimulus from other participants.
