Desalination for Industry: Owner Requirements and Key Design Criteria

January 13th, 10:00 am – 11:20 am EST

Webinar description: Desalination for industrial users is becoming increasingly common in the private sector. Industrial consumers are seeking ways to limit their dependence on surface and groundwater sources that may also be relied upon for human consumption, as well as ensure uninterrupted supply for continuity of their operations. Once seawater desalination is identified as a viable alternative, there are a number of design considerations (and therefore affecting permitting) that must be taken into account. These decisions often have to do with operational flexibility, maintenance, and system reliability, and are influenced by the core business of the owner as well as the opportunity cost of interruption.
